Genevieve G. Redd, Esq. specializes in personal injury law which includes motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall accidents and worker’s compensation third-party claims. In addition, she has participated in numerous cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania aside from tort cases; these include Social Security Disability (SSI & SSD), Elder Law, Guardianships, preparation of wills, Estate Planning, advising retired persons on health care insurance and Medicare options, and income tax matters involving the IRS.
Prior to joining the law firm of Garces, Grabler & Lebrocq, Genevieve was a member of Sikov & Love, P.A., located in Pittsburgh, whose practice was devoted exclusively to litigation in the field of Elder Law. Prior to that, Ms. Redd served as a legal intern for the IRS Taxpayer Advocate, interned with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Family Services Health Care Law Project and worked as a paralegal for the Osterhout Law Firm which specialized in American Disability Act (ADA) cases. At Osterhout, she was responsible for over 700 Social Security Disability cases, all representing the claimant. Her duties encompassed the full spectrum of the case, from initial intake through the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals.
Ms. Redd, a native of Pittsburgh, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and minors in Spanish and Portuguese. Genevieve was recruited into the 2010 New Orleans Corps of Teach for America. She taught Kindergarten in an inner-city neighborhood that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, and continues to personally provide school supplies for inner-city students every year.
Genevieve graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Law School in 2015 with a Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate of Advance Studies in Civil Litigation. During her time in law school, Ms. Redd served as a legal news writer, editor and podcast host for JURIST, an award-winning on-line legal newspaper. She also served as President of the Pitt Legal Income Sharing Foundation which provided scholarships to students who volunteered their time to counsel residents of underserved communities. She received the prestigious Pitt Law Service Leadership Award for outstanding public interest leadership.
Ms. Redd is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. From the time she was a young child, she always wanted to become a lawyer and serve the interests of the disadvantaged, and protect their interests against the large corporations that so often take advantage of them. That is what steered her to Garces, Grabler & Lebrocq, a law firm that fights for those injured in accidents and does their very best to ensure that their clients are not taken advantage of by insurance companies.
Genevieve is an avid ice hockey fan, her favorite team being the Pittsburgh Penguins. Currently, she resides in Hudson County with her husband and two beagles.
