Upper Freehold Township, NJ (February 27, 2023) – Both the Millstone Township Fire Department and the Hope Fire Company of Allentown were dispatched to provide assistance to the police in Upper Freehold Township at the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that took place on Saturday.
At approximately 4:54 p.m. on February 25, authorities were notified that a crash had occurred on County Road 524. According to officials, two vehicles collided on County Road 524 in the area of Sharon Station Road. One of the vehicles overturned and struck a utility pole near the intersection. The vehicles were identified as a white SUV and a black sedan.
Two people became trapped inside the SUV after it overturned.
Firefighters were called to extricate the two victims. It took approximately 25 minutes to remove the first victim from the vehicle and an additional 15 minutes to remove the second victim.
Both of the victims suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident. Both ALS – Advanced Life Support care and a second medic were requested at the scene. A MEDEVAC helicopter was requested to fly the victims from the scene of the accident. An ambulance from Robbinsville transported the first patient by ground to Capital Health System Trauma Center in Trenton, New Jersey. The second victim was transported by MEDEVAC to RWJUH New Brunswick for the treatment of serious injuries.
The police department is currently investigating the crash.
