Harding Township, NJ (February 26, 2023) – The police and firefighters out of Morris County responded to provide assistance at the scene of a motor vehicle crash that took place on Friday afternoon and ended with injuries.
At approximately 1:25 p.m. on February 24, calls for assistance were received regarding an accident that occurred on Interstate 287.
Reports from the state police show that a collision blocked the northbound side of the interstate during the afternoon hours. The incident prompted officials to close at least one lane of travel just south of Exit 33 at Harter Road.
A team of paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident to treat the injured victims. At least one of the individuals involved in the incident was sent to a nearby medical facility for further medical treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by the New Jersey State Police at this time.
My thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families at this time.
Car Accidents in New Jersey
Every day, auto accidents take place in the state of New Jersey, which have life-altering consequences for victims. When innocent people are harmed as a result of these accidents, their lives can be changed forever. Regrettably, we see countless people suffer serious injuries as a result of automobile accidents that take place due to negligence. Some of the leading causes of car accidents across our state include:
- Speeding: When drivers refuse to operate their vehicles at a safe speed, they can cause harm to others. Speeding increases the chance of victims losing control of their vehicles, drifting into lands nearby, and not being able to stop in time to avoid crashing into vehicles ahead of them.
- Impairment: Drivers who use drugs or alcohol before entering the road place every single person at risk. When drivers are impaired, they are unable to operate the vehicle safely. Drivers who are under the influence are more likely to lose control of their vehicle and crash and to others.
- Distracted: We see far too many accidents take place in our state as a result of drivers who are using their cell phones or distracted by other means. Distractions can take the attention of a driver off the road and cause them to crash and to others without knowing.
