Car Accidents in New Jersey
Every year, motor vehicle accidents in the state of New Jersey send tens of thousands of people to area hospitals with injuries. Any type of accident has the chance of causing a significant amount of pain and suffering for those involved. Unfortunately, when vehicles collide in a head-on manner, there is a significant chance that the injuries they suffer will be dramatically increased.
There are several reasons why head-on collisions tend to be more serious. For one, many vehicles that collide head-on do so at a high rate of speed. The force of the impact of the collision tends to be far greater and causes significantly more damage to the involved vehicles. As a result, occupants are more likely to become trapped in the wreckage, ejected, or forced to endure significant blows to the head and upper body.
Unfortunately, the front of the vehicle tends to lack protection when compared to other areas. There is more of a chance that a vehicle will crumble and bend and leave the occupants vulnerable to suffering life-threatening injuries.
People involved in head-on collisions often suffer from severe trauma to the head, neck, and soft tissue injuries, and severe compound fractures. Regrettably, these and other serious injuries can have an overwhelming impact on a victim’s life and force them to undergo extensive medical treatment.
