Atlantic City, NJ (August 14, 2023) – A boating accident reported in the Atlantic City area claimed one woman’s life.
Just after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, the Marine Service Bureau notified officials that a boat accident occurred at the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) located near the Albany Avenue Bridge.
According to reports, 79-year-old Norma Michaels was swimming in the water near a floating dock located near a residence on Boulevard Avenue when she was struck by a 20-foot Robalo boat.
The woman sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The boat operator, who was identified as 52-year-old Jeffrey Jastrzembski, remained at the scene. He was uninjured.
At this time, investigations are underway.
