Gerald B. O’Connor

Gerald O’ConnorGerald B. O’Connor practices exclusively in the field of personal injury litigation representing plaintiffs in all aspects of personal injury law. He has particular expertise in the area of medical malpractice litigation and has secured numerous multi-million dollar awards for his clients.

Mr. O'Connor has acted as an instructor in trial litigation for Rutgers University School of Law from 1976-1985 and for Seton Hall University School of Law from 1980-1985. Mr. O'Connor has been a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committees on Model Jury Charges, Civil Case Management and Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has been recognized as a civil trial specialist in the publication Best Lawyers of America from its inception in 1991, and has been continuously listed in that publication up to and including 2001. Mr. O'Connor has been the recipient of the 1994 Trial Attorneys of New Jersey Trial Bar Awards, has been inducted into the International Society of Barristers and made a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Gerald B. O'Connor was born in Newark, New Jersey, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 and from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1968, and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar and United States District Court in 1968, as well as to the New York Bar in 1985. Mr. O'Connor attended the National College Advocacy at Harvard School of Law in 1974 and became a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 1989. Mr. O’Connor has served as a trustee for the Association of Trial Lawyers of American and has been a member of the Board of Trustees, Officer and President of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. Mr. O'Connor has been a Master of the Essex County American Inns of Court and was one of the Charter Members of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
